Spro Coffee
Spro Coffee brings a commitment to serving the finest coffees in the world in a comfortable and friendly setting. Since 2003, Jay has been immersing himself in the pursuit of excellence in the culinary arts of coffee and espresso.

The company has been recognized in a variety of prestigious national coffee competitions. Since 2004 our baristas have participated in the United States Barista Championship, as well as a variety of regional barista and latte art competitions and the 2005 World Barista Championship. In 2007, Jay will be involved with staging the Ethiopian National Barista Championship.

In 1999, the company started out as Jay's Shave Ice, adding a focus on specialty coffee in 2003. In 2005, the company opened The Ono Grill, a Hawaiian Southern Fusion BBQ shack in Timonium, Maryland. That same year, the Ono Grill earned 4 stars for both food and service from The Baltimore Sun.

Beyond his achievements in coffee, Jay has been very involved in community activities, which include a variety of local and national non-profit charities and organizations. These range from community charities such as The Katipunan of Maryland to the Barista Guild of America and the Specialty Coffee Association of America.

For the future, Jay hopes to continue delivering innovative and exciting concepts in coffee within warm and friendly environs.
